Overview
Adafruit Industries is a New York City based company that sells kits and parts for original, open source hardware electronics projects featured. They intend for all of their projects are to make it easy for beginners to make with nicely silkscreened circuit boards, through-hole parts whenever possible, extra large solder pads, etc. They do offer just the circuit boards for some of their kits. They are an all around very useful source, and offer some cheaper alternatives (that are just as capable) to some of the available kits out there.
Discount
Adafruit offers their resellers discount to all hackerspaces, and we have registered with them just for that reason. That discount can provide up to 40% off depending on the quantity ordered. The one thing they ask is that a minimum order of $250 be placed.
